Hitchcock Farmers Award Helps Salvation Army

Carol Anderson of Hitchcock has been selected as a winner in the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program which gives farmers the opportunity to win 2,500 dollars for their favorite local non-profit organizations.  The Monsanto Fund sponsors the program and winning farmers designate a local non-profit organization to benefit from the donations.  Anderson has designated the Salvation Army located in Huron to recieve the donation.  Amderspm says she is very excited to have been selected as the winner for Beadle County.  Captain Eric Johnson, Huron Corps Officer, says he’s very grateful that they can use the donation from the program to help feed others is  the community.  More than 60-thousand farmers participated in the program, which is designed to benefit non-profit groups such as ag, youth, school and other civic organizations.
