The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Reede Construction, will hold an open house style public meeting for the Highway 37 project on Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m. in Huron.
The $8 million project will reconstruct 1.1 miles of Highway 37 (Dakota Avenue) from 15th Street N to 3rd Street N, add turn lanes to the Highway 14 intersection and reconstruct the 21st Street intersection.
Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in early April and includes grading, concrete paving, placing curb and gutter, sidewalk and storm sewer, lighting and signal upgrades.
The public meeting will be held at the Crossroads Event Center located at 100 4th Street SW in Huron. The public information meeting will be informal with a short presentation at 6 p.m. and staff available to discuss issues and answer your questions regarding the reconstruction project. During this time, attendees will also have the opportunity to present written comments.
