Hertel To Take General Manager Role At Alaska State Fair

The man whose help the South Dakota State Fair produce continual growth and guided this past years event to over 200-thousand in attendance is off to Alaska. On it’s website, the Alaska State Fair has announced the selection of Jerome Hertel to assume duties as General Manager. Hertel will replace current manager Ray Ritari on December 8^th. Ritari has been in the General Manager role at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska for seven year. Hertel has served in his position at the South Dakota State Fair for nearly seven years. Calls for comment were placed to the Alaska State Fair first to the Board of Directors who transferred the request to Ritari. Ritari said he had no role in the decision to hire Hertel and that Board of Director’s Chairman, John Harkey was unavailable for comment on a business trip to New York. Requests for comment from the South Dakota State Fair have not been returned.
