Half-Price SD Women’s Expo Tickets Now Available

For a limited time only, women can purchase SD Women’s Expo general admission tickets for just $5, which is half off the $10 early-bird general admission ticket price. Prostrollo Motor Sales in Huron is offering the special deal to the first 100 women to stop by the dealership.

The SD Women’s Expo, an annual event designed to provide a day of pampering and fun for women, will be held Saturday, October 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nordby Exhibit Hall on the SD State Fairgrounds.

In keeping with last year’s theme to “Rise Above,” two keynote speakers will share their personal journeys of courage and hope with Expo attendees. Luke Nelson, an anti-bullying speaker from Minnesota, shares his story of surviving a stroke before birth and how he overcame being the target of bullying. These struggles pushed Luke to contemplate suicide in high school – but his and his parents’ faith, along with his determination and values, drove him to continue living so that he could help others.

In the afternoon “Rise Above” presentation, Huron native Jennifer Funk Hiles will recount her experience living with arteriovenous malformation that has progressed for decades, affecting her appearance and endangering her physical health. Like many women, Hiles struggled with self-doubt and will share her journey to strength and confidence.

Back again this year is a Princess Party for little girls age four and older. And, new this year is Family Feud-Girlfriend Style, which pits two groups of five girlfriends against each other in a contest to guess the most popular responses to survey questions.

Throughout the day, women are invited to pamper themselves with a manicure or pedicure in the day spa; take a break in the relaxation area while sipping a glass of wine or beer and enjoy a little “retail therapy” as they stroll through the exhibit hall filled with merchandise from a wide variety of vendors. Huron Regional Medical Center and other community health providers invite attendees to loosen up and learn with a massage garden, free blood pressure, skin damage and osteoporosis screenings, mini cooking demonstrations, a flu clinic and interactive information on how to live healthier.
