John Halbkat will retain his spot on the Huron School Board. Halbkat took 86-percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election. Challenger Brian Hines garnered 14-percent of the vote. Specific vote numbers were unavailable, but Huron School District Business Manager Kelly Christopherson says voter turn-out was around 7-percent. Halbkat was unavailable for comment Tuesday night after his win. He will begin his next three-year term in July
