A Guatemalan man who illegally reentered the United States after being deported has been sentenced to three months of jail time and will be deported again. 21-year-old Gilmar Santiago-Lopez, was met by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during an investigation of vehicle registration fraud at the Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office in Wessington Springs. The investigation revealed Lopez was previously removed from the country by an immigration judge in January of 2009. He came back to the U.S. in July of 2009. Lopez made no attempt to to gain permission to return to the United States from the Department of Homeland Security or US Attorney Generals office. Deportation proceedings for Lopez will begin August 18th
