Greater Huron Development Corporation is proud to announce the Governors Office of Economic Development has awarded the organization a workforce recruitment grant in the amount of $25,000. In office the GOED announced the program to inform out of state workers that businesses across the state are hiring. Communities were encouraged to apply for the funding, distributed based on the partnership commitment and the quality of jobs available. Ted Haeder with GHDC said the recruitment program will offer assistance for businesses seeking workers.
Haeder said there is a wide range of workers that could be attracted with the recruitment program.
The two part workforce initiative includes an opportunity for both marketing and incentives for workforce recruitment in local communities across the state. Haeder talks about how well the program has worked locally.
He said the program is open to workers from across the country but said many will be from western states.
Funding from the GOED comes from a partnership of matching funds.
