Huron City Attorney Gerry Kaufman says the agreement has been approved by the South Dakota Attorney Generals Office. The State Fair would collect 10-percent of the 10 dollars cost of the permit to cover processing of the permits. The remainder would be remitted back to the City. Commissioner Kerwin Haeder says the agreement should help fair-goers camping at State owned campgrounds, off the main State Fair campus, who travel to and from the main grounds with electric powered golf carts…

Haeder says the Fair may make slow-moving vehicle emblems available at the Fair Office. The permits are required for electric golf carts and gas powered carts not already licensed by the state as a motor vehicle.
