The U.S, Fish and Wildlife Service and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for shooting a golden eagle one mile north of Forestburg in Sanborn County. The eagle was shot prior to December 24th of last year. Golden eagles are protected by both federal and state law under the Migratory bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
