Bob Glanzer has announced his candidacy for re-election to District 22 of SD House of Representatives.
Glanzer is completing his first term in the House and has served on the Education and Agriculture and Natural Resources Committees.
Glanzer attended rural school in Milford Township and then graduated from James Valley Christian High School in 1963. He graduated from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas and later taught a variety of Business Education Classes and coached sports at Wessington Springs High School.
In 1975, Glanzer was hired as the manager of the South Dakota State Fair and was instrumental in designing and overseeing the financing and construction of the Open Class Beef Complex.
Glanzer and his wife Penny grew up on farms in northern Beadle County. Their family includes a son, Tom and his wife Stephanie; a daughter, Sally, and her husband Brad, of Hesson, Kansas. The Glanzer’s have 5 grandchildren, including a married granddaughter.
Glanzer retired in Feb. of 2012 after 33 years as an agricultural loan officer.
“As a former high school educator, state fair manager, and a commercial banker, I bring an assortment of quality life experiences and a respected expertise to the floor of the legislature,” Glanzer says. “I have worked hard for the constituents of District 22 over this past term. I would respectfully consider it an honor to continue to represent the citizens of District 22.
