The 23rd Annual Mayor’s Award for Excellence will be presented at the Greater Huron Development Corporation/Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau Joint Annual Meeting March 28 at the Plains.
This award is sponsored by the Greater Huron Development Corporation to recognize outstanding contributions by a business or individual to the economic development of the Huron community. The award is based upon ongoing community and economic development contributions in a variety of areas. Contributions must be shown in arts and culture, amateur sports, education, voluntary community groups, economic development and other areas that provide positive impact upon Huron.
“Recipients of this award portray those qualities that encourage a contribution of time, volunteerism and financial commitment to our region’s future for development and overall quality of life.” said David McGirr, GHDC President/CEO. “Their contributions, as well as that of their employees, have promoted a healthy business climate making Huron a great community to live and do business.”
