The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department is making some changes to deer license applications.
Department Secretary Kelly Hepler says the idea is to allow more people the chance to get a deer tag.
The new policy puts four separate seasons, west river, east river, Black Hills and muzzleloader into one drawing.
Hepler says in the past, some hunters got multiple tags.
Hepler says they will still see the same game management.
Some hunting groups are opposed to the changes.
The Game, Fish & Parks Commission will make the final decision on the rules at their January meeting.
