PIERRE, SD – High water is limiting boating access to some lakes in eastern South Dakota. The Game, Fish and Parks Department said more than two dozen boat ramps are temporarily closed because of flooding. Some of the lakes on the list are popular spots like Lake Poinsett, Lake Thompson and Roy Lake. Others are smaller, out-of-the-way lakes. Officials say the status of boat ramps changes daily and it has an online service listing fishing and boating access.
