SIOUX FALLS, SD – A 22-year-old South Dakota man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer. Tory Ray Kirkie, of Ft. Thompson, faces eight years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 19. Prosecutors say Kirkie struck an officer from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in July after the officer tried to arrest him on a warrant for a supervised release violation. Bureau of Indian Affairs and Crow Creek Agency investigated the incident.
