Foot Slip Sends Car Into Strip Mall

A California woman will have quite the story to tell when she returns to the Golden State. Sandra McCormick was pulling into a parking spot at the South Town Square Mall in Huron Thursday morning when her foot slipped off the brake pedal and hit the gas pedal. That caused the 2008 Ford Taurus rental car she was in to surge forward through the front wall of the strip mall. The Huron Police Department says none of the vehicle occupants were injured in the collision, however one person inside the building complained of a minor injury and told police they would seek medical attention on their own The rental car from Huron Automotive sustained minor damage. The amount of damage to the building and car are unknown. There is no word if McCormick will face any charges.
