The influenza season is off to a slow start in South Dakota….
That’s Doctor Lon Kightlinger of the South Dakota Health Department. He says there have been just seven lab-confirmed cases of influenza in the state so far this season, which is way behind the number at this time last winter. He says it’s not a question of IF influenza numbers will spike in South Dakota….but WHEN…..
Kightlinger says the reasons behind the slower start to the flu season are difficult to pin down…….
Kightlinger says the Health Department will released updated influenza statistics on Friday.
