The Huron Tigers had five players on the 11AA all state football team announced today. Juniors Gabe Reiger, Chipper Shillingstad, and Matt Katz were all first team selections, while seniors Jackson Hook and Zack Siemonsma were honorable mention.
Reiger was selected as an offensive lineman, and Huron head coach Michael Schmitz said Gabe always playeed at full gear.
Shillingstad was selected at defensive back, and coach Schmitz said his five interceptions was among the best in 11AA
Katz was chosen at long snapper, and coach Schmitz said that’s a skill that can’t be taken for granted.
Hook lead the Tigers with 85 tackles and was one of the team leaders.
Siemonsma made a position switch before the season and flourished.
