After a one-night delay, the 2015 Salvation Army Christmas Basket program is off and running. Phone pledges totaling $six-thousand 45-dollars were received during the first night of the now three-night program. The annual event continues tonight at 6:30 P-M with the First Presbyterian Church Choir, Holy Trinity Church, Choir, James River Bluegrass Band, the Riverview and First United Methodist Church Choirs and Firm Foundation Praise Team. Proceeds raised during the Christmas Basket telethon go toward supplying Christmas Food Baskets for less fortunate families in Beadle County and surrounding areas including Wessington Springs, De Smet, Alpena, Miller and Tulare. The Christmas Basket program can be seen on the Huron Tiger Network on Midco Cable Channel Six, on the Internet at www.christmasbasket.us and heard on the radio on 1210-AM KOKK. The program runs through Thursday. Due to the cancellation Monday, Thursday night’s performance will include nine bands and start a half hour earlier at six-PM. You can also view the Christmas Basket in person at the Huron High School Auditorium. Admission is free. If you’ve pledged money, your reminded to send the pledge money to the Salvation Army, P-O Box 1362, Huron, South Dakota, 57350. Please write on the check or envelope, “Christmas Basket Program.”
