One of Huron’s newest dining destinations is a retirement dream for Rex Sawvell of Huron. It’s Firepit Pizzaria, 357 Dakota avenue south next to the former Smith’s Jewelry location. Sawvell has and interest in pizza and decided to take his interest a little farther. He tells us how it all came about.

Firepit Pizzeria was named for a fire pit put in place at Lake Byron that would draw friends off the water to enjoy the comradery. Firepit Pizzeria opens at 11am for lunch with a pizza slice bar and a limited salad bar. A 13 inch pizza is available though the day. Types of pizza will be added as the business evolves.
