Fire Leaves Family Homeless

The American Red Cross is assisting a family who’s lost nearly everything they have in a Sunday night fire. An emergency call log indicates a fire call dispatched at 10:33 PM Sunday night to a location on Illinois Avenue Southwest. The Red Cross, in a press release says volunteers responded to a home for a fire on the same street last night.  Assistance is being provided in the form of food, clothing, shoes, infant supplies and emergency lodging at a hotel. The family consists of two adults and three children. There was no word on an injuries. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion or what sounded like a bomb going off during the fire.
