A fire at Dano’s Marine West highway 212 in Watertown Sunday caused significant damage to the frontal area of the building and the inventory inside. Don Rowland is the Assistant Watertown Fire Chief:
Rowland says firefighters were able to control the blaze before it could expand into a larger rear building. He says a firewall between the two buildings helped contain it. All of the contents in the office section of the Marine dealership were lost, however the rear building and merchandise inside were saved. The fire department was alerted by a passing motorist who saw smoke coming from the building late Sunday morning. The investigation is underway to determine the cause. No injuries were reported.
