FEMA Wraps Up Preliminary Damage Assessments Across SD

Officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency have made inspections in almost sixty counties and several Indian Reservations following damaging floods and storms in March.

FEMA spokesman Brian Hvinden says they got the field work done last week.

Hvinden says the next step is up the state and Governor Kristi Noem.

Hvinden says the damage totals have been given to the Governors office.

He says they found damage across almost the entire state.

Hvinden says some federal funds could begin flowing as soon as a Presidential declaration is announced.
