Farm Bureau Starts Rancher Fund

The South Dakota Farm Bureau has set up the Farm Bureau Cares Fund to assist livestock producers in the Western part of the state hit by last month’s blizzard. State Farm Bureau Executive Director Wayne Smith says they put the donation program together not to compete with others but because they had so many requests for it from their own members.

Smith says they are taking referrals and hope to start distributing aid in the next few weeks.

Smith says they have set up a fund for donations at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Huron or donations may be sent to their state office. He says checks should be made out to South Dakota Farm Bureau Cares Fund.
