Ethanol Group Asks Task Force to Lift Restrictions

The American Coalition for Ethanol has filed comments with the Regulatory Reform Task Force of the Environmental Protection Agency. A recent executive order called for the task force to evaluate existing regulations and recommend which should be repealed, replaced or modified. ACE Executive Vice President Brian Jennings of Sioux Falls, says they are asking the agency to lift the Reid Vapor Pressure barrier to allow year-round use of E15.

He says they also want the EPA to update the lifecycle analysis of corn ethanol.

Jennings is encouraged that EPA administrator Scott Pruitt is moving forward with this task force, and seems committed to making science based decisions.

The comment period on the EPA’s regulatory reform runs through May 15.
