In court, Deputy States Attorney Jeff Banks asked Judge Tim Tucker to sentence Erickson to the maximum sentence of 45 years in prison and total restitution to the victims, many of whom were present in court, of 34-thousand 733 dollars. Defense attorney David Wheeler told Tucker that being only 30- years-old his client, who put himself through college at Dakota Wesleyan, has more live ahead of him to live and could become a productive person. Erickson told the court how he was moved around as a small child and had no support or guidance from his parents. He felt like an outcast and alone. Three others have pleaded guilty in the case and are awaiting sentencing….
Erickson was ordered to repay restitution of 19-thousand-269 dollars on each count. He was given credit for the 31 days he spent in the Beadle County Jail. Wheeler declined comment following sentencing.
