SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — DISH viewers in eastern South Dakota can watch their favorite shows Tuesday, but the network will go dark at midnight Wednesday on the satellite provider. The general manager of KTTW-TV in Sioux Falls says DISH Network Corp. won’t pay it a fair and equitable fee for Fox programming, so it has to pull the channel. Ed Hoffman says it won’t affect off-air customers and those who receive Fox through another provider. Englewood, Colo.-based DISH says it offered a contract extension to KTTW to allow for service to continue through negotiations, but the station refused the offer. DISH says KTTW wants it to pay seven times more for the same content.
Hoffman says the station’s goal is not to take away programming but make sure all networks are treated equally.
