Huron will be host to the East Region High School Rodeo this weekend on the Heartland Rodeo grounds on East Highway 14. Rodeo coordinator Brad McGirr of Huron says around 150 High School girls and boys are expected from the eastern third of the state.
McGirr says athletes are looking to earn points in order to qualify for the state finals rodeo in Belle Fourche at the end of the month. It begins with a cutting competition this afternoon, then full rodeo performances tomorrow and Sunday.
There will be a second east region rodeo in Watertown later this month. Performances will be at 1:00 tomorrow, and 10:00 on Sunday. Admission is free.
