Testimony resumed Wednesday in the Edwin Thompson murder trial in Huron.. Huron Police Department Captain Kevin Van Diepen told jurors Thompson seemed nervous as he found him walking near the Bradfield-Leary Center. Van Diepen gave chase to Thompson on foot when officers reached to place Thompson in hand cuffs. Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Josh Bobizen testified the hooded sweatshirt worn by Ryan Treadway had distinctive shoe patterns on the upper sleeve of the left arm. During the autopsy Bobizen noticed other injuries consistent with the same patterns on Treadway’s body. A second DCI, agent Mark Black testified that bloody foot prints leaving a pool of blood in the patio area of the Bradfield-Leary Center also matched the shoe pattern of Thompson’s footwear. Criminalist Cindi Smith told jurors her D-N-A testing of Thompson shirt, shoes and pants found Treadway’s blood on Thompson’s clothes. A friend of Treadway’s, who was living at the B-L-C, testified she saw Treadway covering his face with his arms as he was being jumped on, but could not tell who was jumping on him. Lona Hannahmen did not hear an argument before seeing Treadway assaulted. Testimony continues this afternoon
