Governor Kristi Noem’s State-of-the-State Address on Tuesday got high marks from District 22 lawmakers.
Noem began her message with a pledge to maintain the fiscal integrity for which she says the state has become known.
Noem spoke about a wide range of issues including, economic development, education, the state’s Meth epidemic, expanding broadband access, and agriculture.
District 22 State Representative Roger Chase says when it comes to combating the influx of meth into South Dakota its vital to secure the southern border.
Rep. Bob Glanzer was impressed with the governor’s emphasis on improving broadband internet services in rural communities.
Although he was impressed with the governor’s message, Senator Jim White says the legislature has some work ahead of it to help Noem achieve her goals for the state.
Noem is expected to unveil her proposed budget sometime in the next few weeks.
