Monday night, the city heard a report on last week’s citywide clean-up from Solid Waste Superintendent Dale Fortin.
Fortin says 261 households participated in the annual event.
Fortin says the weather didn’t deter residents from taking part. 79.52 tons were collected over the three days, up from last years total of 78.95.
Fortin also talked about the Drop Off Site and the difficulty his department has had in keeping the area dry.
The public is reminded that everything dumped at the site has to be de-bagged.
Also at last night’s city commission meeting:
The city authorized the parks and recreation director to apply for a West Nile Virus Prevention Grant.
The city’s wastewater treatment facility was recognized for receiving the 2018 Operation and Maintenance Award from the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
