The City Commission investigated Schmitt’s testimony March 7th at a legislative hearing on an immigration bill. Schmitt claimed to have knowledge of area businesses that knowing hire illegal immigrants and claimed on of the businesses would even provide documents for those who didn’t have them. The City Commission accepted Schmitt’s retirement and resignation last Thursday. Haeder also asked the Commission for permission to find a permenent replacement for Schmitt…
