Daugaard Reflects on Resurgence of State Fair

The South Dakota State Fair begins its annual run with Channel Seeds Preview day on Wednesday. The State Fair and State Fair Park were not immune to 10-percent across-the-board cuts mandated by Governor Dennis Daugaard after he took office to eliminate a continual structural deficit that hung over the state budget. The Fair has seen a resurgence in the years since…

Daugaard says the increase in off season events has helped increase revenues.

Those increases in revenue are helping the Fairgrounds on much needed upkeep and maintenance.

Daugaard is looking forward to one more fair as Governor.

The last two years, the South Dakota State Fair has surpassed the 200-thousand visitor plateau.
