Daugaard In Favor Of Changes To Teacher Bonus Bill

The Governors education bill (HB1234) was amended, and passed by the House Education Committee last week. It now calls for beginning teachers to get an eight thousand dollar bonus for each of their first five years, and the top twenty percent of teachers in each district to get a bonus. It also would allow some decisions to be made by local school districts. The goal is to improve student achievement.  Governor Dennis Daugaard says he is ok with the amendments so far…
