Meeting in Sioux Falls Wednesday the South Dakota Board of Technical Education took time away from their scheduled meeting to give special recognition to Governor Dennis Daugaard. Board president Dana Dykhouse made the presentation.
The board recognized Daugaard for promoting the value of technical education and for being a strong proponent of the Build Dakota Scholarship initiative. The Governor said the full-ride scholarship program is the best scholarship model anywhere, in either two or four-year institutions.
Daugaard was also commended for supporting investments at all of the state’s technical schools including renovations, construction of new facilities, the purchase of new equipment and for placing focus on workforce development.
