On Wednesday users on Facebook were alerted to a potential phishing scam. The scammer used Dakotaland Federal Credit Union as the ploy. Dawn Mutchelknaus with Dakotaland said they wanted to let the public know to avoid any problems she said so far all is good.
Mutchelknaus said they do now know much about the attempt that was sent via text message to the holders cell phone.
She said the scam comes in different forms.
She said they wanted to get the word out on Facebook about the texting scam and urged caution for their customers and others not associated with Dakotaland. Their has been no breach of Dakotaland systems.
