Dakota Central Processing and Distribution Center finds itself on the bubble of another review of postal facilities. The postal service latest 10 year plan titled “Delivering for America” is a $40 billion plan to modernize the postal service. There is a Mail Processing Facility Review currently underway to evaluate the role that the Huron facility will take in the redesigned postal network and assess potentially moving some of its operations to Fargo Distribution center. The presentation was not presented in an open format. The short presentation last Friday was continually labeled as not a question and answer opportunity. The findings from the study state that no career employees would see lay offs, it also listed savings of up to 970 thousand dollars per year once changes are made at the Huron facility.
