Dairy Producers Want US Senate To Push Immigration Reforms

imagesSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Senate won’t consider immigration reform during this session of Congress. He says it likely will be pushed off until January of 2017 at the earliest. South Dakota Dairy Producers President Marv Post of Volga says his industry needs a reform package to allow them to have a legal workforce available.

Post says a federal program is needed rather than piecemeal state regulations which aren’t working.

Post says the need for his industry doesn’t go away just because 2016 is an election year. He says they’ll continue to try and work with lawmakers to get some type of package approved.
