It’s day 6 in the Daily Dex feature where we hear from users of the beef barn complex on the State Fairgrounds and the plans for the proposed DEX, Dakota Events Complex. It would be a 200,000 square foot multi use facility that could be ready for the 2022 State Fair. We have heard from several people who have had lifelong activities at the beef barn how it affected their lives and families throughout the year and not just during the fair. Today we will hear from Garrett Bischoff who will talk about 4 generations of family using the old beef complex, especially during the SD State Fair.
Bischoff talks about what the DEX could mean to the fair throughout the year.
He said he looks at the tragic fire on October 31st that destroyed the beef barn as a opportunity to look ahead and improve.
Greater Huron Development Corporation and the Huron Community Foundation are matching pledges dollar for dollar up to $200,000 towards the Dakota Events Complex fund drive of 4 million dollars. Find out more about the plans at http://sdstatefairfoundation.com
