MITCHELL, SD – A Colorado businessman said a wind farm being proposed on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation is going forward. Paul McMenaman with Winterhawk Energy and Development Corp. said he’s looking for a buyer for the electricity produced by 222 wind turbines. He said the turbines could be operating in late 2011 or early 2012. A member of the tribal council, Peter Lengkeek, says a group on the reservation is working to stop the project because the tribe would get a disproportionaly small share of the profits.
