Cool Temps Expected Through the Beginning of October

With corn harvest beginning early across the northern plains, even the weather experts admit it was an unusual season.

Dennis Todey heads up the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa.

Todey says then the heat came, speeding up crop development.

Todey says that early heat pushed corn ahead of soybeans.

Updated climate maps now show cool temperatures across the region at the end of the month into October, which may bring the first frost.
