A continuance is granted in the second offense D-U-I case of Wessington Springs Superintendent Lance Witte. Witte had a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Hanson County Courthouse in Alexandra. States Attorney Jim Davies told Judge Sean O’Brien, Witte’s lawyer Doug Dailey requested the case be continued. Davies was only told by Dailey, the reason for the continuance was because Witte was in treatment, but did not have any more information beyond that and could not confirm for the court what treatment was being undertaken. Witte was arrested for his second D-U-I since December on August 5th, three days after he pleaded guilty to driving on a revoked license. A suspended imposition of sentence was granted in that case.and Witte was placed under a 60 day probation. The case has been continued until October 5th
