Continuance Granted In LeGrand Case…No Sentencing Date Annonced

Judge Vince Foley has granted a continuance in the John LeGrand Trail. The continuance was formally granted by Foley after informal discussions with lawyers in the case. Speaking via telephone from their offices in Mitchell, LeGrand’s lawyers told Foley they want to have a psychiatrist as an expert witness Prosecutors told Foley they didn’t think a psychiatrist would be able to add new information to the discussions on how the drugs Trazodone, Clonazepam and Temazepam interact with each other and how they interacted with LeGrand who was also taking hyrocortizone, Aleve and a stool softener. Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore proposed calling the supervising physican of the Huron Clinic, Dr. Janice McKinney, who supervised over the two Physicians Assistance, who directly saw LeGrand since he has been jailed in Huron. A new hearing is set for Monday November 7th, A motion to withdraw LeGrands plea is still pending and no new sentencing date was announced.
