The hot, humid weather triggered severe storms around the state yesterday afternoon and evening, including tornado warnings in Gregory county.
Meteorologist Jen Hacker with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says there was a confirmed tornado on the ground in northern Gregory county.
Hacker says the weather service couldn’t verify reports from the public of a tornado in Charles Mix county.
Today, the main threat for severe weather is in the southeast portion of the state.
There are more chances of rain and thunderstorms throughout the holiday week .
