Road construction work on US Highway, 14 west of Huron starts today. The work extends from the end of the four-lane highway west four point three miles to 393rd Avenue. Contractors will begin with concrete patching, shoulder prep and other work in two-mile stretches. During the work, flaggers will control traffic during daylight hours and delays could be as long as 10 minutes. Around July 20th a Portland concrete cement overlay will be placed on the entire four-mile work zone. Flaggers will move to 24-hour traffic control and delays could increase to nearly 20 minutes. Most of the work is scheduled to be completed before the South Dakota State Fair. The cost of the project is three point two million dollars.
