The Senate Education Committee is holding a hearing today on a bill that would create an appointed council to compare the Common Core standards with the standards previously used by South Dakota. It would also compare the tests used under both standards. Common Core standards were developed by a majority of states to make sure students across the country are achieving at a higher level.
