Members of the South Dakota Legislatures Government Operations and Audit Committee heard about staffing issues from the Department of Social Services at their meeting last week in Pierre.
Committee Vice Chair, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they heard about problems finding workers for the Human Services Center in Yankton and the Redfield Developmental Center
Hunhoff says overtime costs are soaring at both institutions
Hunhoff says they also need assurances that the programs in those facilities are able to function
Hunhoff says they asked for another update at their next meeting later this spring.
