Last night, the Huron City Commission approved first reading of a water conservation ordinance that would establish odd/even watering of lawns, trees, gardens, and landscaping. With the expansion of Dakota Provisions and the opening of North Central Foam, the city is taking this step to ensure it can meet these needs and the needs of any new industries that may come to Huron.
City Engineer Mike Wever told the commission that odd/even watering is the best option.
Wever explained how the ordinance would work.
Second reading of the ordinance will be held at next week’s city commission meeting.
