Commission Hears Update On Wellness Challenge

Huron City Commissioners got an update on progress being made in the Mayor’s Wellness Challenge. It’s an effort brought by Mayor Dave McGirr to improve the health of city employees and reduce the expensive health insurance coverage the city is forced to carry due to high claims. Eining presented a number of goals as the project moves forward. The City Commission approved six volunteer members of the City Wellness Committee following the 20 minute Wellness presentation by Eining and Carr. The first meeting is set for May 24th.
