The Huron City Commission approved a variance request that will allow B-and-B Auto owner Wyatt Brotherton, to continue living at his business location. Due to the Runway Relocation Project at Huron Regional Airport, Brotherton is moving his business north on Dakota Avenue across the street from James Valley Christian. As discussion carried on nearly 30 minutes on issue, it was revealed Brotherton has been living at his current location since 2003, having never received approval from the city to reside at his business. That didn’t sit well with Commissioner Gary Harrington…
Both Hearing Examiner Tim Sletten and Building Inspector Roger Bell recommended approval of Brotherton’s plan with four conditions laid out by Sletten. City Planner Ralph Borkowski did not recommend approval…
A number of neighboring business owners attended the meeting. None spoke, but all supported the change.
