The Huron City Commission quickly went through it’s brief agenda Monday night. Commissioner set January 11th as the date to accept bids again for an automated lift arm and controls for the Solid Waste Department. Commissioners also approved the final payment for 2015 sewer main lining work done by Municipal Pipe LLC and approved the AFSCME union contract for city employees. The contract is a four-year deal, with minimal changes from the previous agreement. Wages and insurance are negotiated yearly with the contract. The Commission also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3-A for the contract covering the city’s police officers. Commissioners met in executive session to discuss a litigation matter. The Huron City Commission will meet one more time in 2015, at noon on Thursday to pay final bills for 2015 and conduct and last minute city business before the new year.
